The Mechanically Polished Concrete process produces a smoother and more durable flooring result.
1. Grinding & Surface Preparation - Removing any existing coatings, adhesives, or impurities and levelling the concrete slab. Exposure of stone and honing to refine.
2. Grouting - Filling of pin holes, minor cracks, and aggregate sections. This ensures the floor can look its best before the densifying and polishing stages can commence.
3. Densification - A chemical densifier is applied to the concrete surface to harden the capillaries in the concrete, making it more resistant to wear and abrasion.
4. Polishing - A series of progressively finer diamond steps are used to refine the surface and achieve the desired level of polish. Matte, Satin or high Gloss can be achieved.
5. Sealing - Depending on the finish required, the correct sealers will be used to protect and enhance the surface.
